The Brand Presence Scorecard

Score your business the way premium clients do

How to score yourself

Rate each category from 1 to 5, honestly. This is the same rubric we use on every professional audit — the scale matters:

  • 1 — Actively hurts premium perception
  • 2 — Present but underdeveloped
  • 3 — Functional, not differentiating
  • 4 — Strong and trust-building
  • 5 — Premium, clear, authority-level

Pro Tip

Score what a stranger sees, not what you meant to build. Owners consistently rate themselves 5–8 points higher than a premium buyer would. If a category feels like “well, it’s sort of there” — that’s a 2.

1. First Impression

Does your business look premium within 5 seconds of landing on your homepage?

Hero image or video, headline, visual quality — does the first screen match what you charge?

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

2. Positioning Clarity

Is it obvious who you serve, what makes you different, and why you charge what you charge?

Read your own headline. Could your closest competitor say the exact same thing?

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

3. Project Presentation

Are projects shown as stories — or as silent photo dumps?

A premium project should explain the challenge, the process, and the result.

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

4. Visual Quality

Do your photos and videos match the caliber of the work?

Be honest: does an $80,000 project look like an $80,000 project on your site?

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

5. Trust Signals

Is there enough proof to reassure a high-value buyer?

Specific testimonials, reviews, years in business, named neighborhoods, credentials.

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

6. Founder & Team

Can prospects see who's behind the company — and why to trust that person?

A real story and real faces, not a wall of text or stock photos.

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

7. Content Consistency

Does your social presence reinforce the same premium position as your website?

Scroll your last 30 posts: clear voice and strategy, or gaps and randomness?

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

8. CTA & Conversion

Is it easy for a serious premium buyer to take the next step?

A confident, visible next step that matches how a $100k client actually decides.

Your score: ① ② ③ ④ ⑤

Reading your total

  • 8–16 — Your presence is actively costing you premium jobs. A complete rebuild will return more than any single marketing tactic.
  • 17–24 — Functional but leaking trust in several places. This is where most established trades land — and where the fastest gains live.
  • 25–32 — Professional, not premium. Targeted work on your weakest two categories moves you into a different league.
  • 33–40 — Strong. Consistency and reach are your next lever, not a rebuild.
